CORE Start: Meet the Participants
CORE Start is an Australia-wide entrepreneurial mentorship and advisory program that aims to develop founder’s capabilities to effectively scale their business and help foster a thriving entrepreneurial community.
The free 12 week program is focused on helping start ups find a framework to enact change through ongoing mentoring and one-on-one advisory sessions along with innovation and leadership workshops.
CORE Start aims to aid the development of emerging technology and innovation in some of Australia’s most significant industries.
MEET TEKUMA
Tekuma aims to improve the ways humans interact with technology. Co-Founded by Michael Griffin and Annette McClelland, Tekuma has successfully developed a force-based, six-degrees of freedom control orb module for drones, robots and other devices.
The Tekuma controller allows users to intuitively control any device with one hand freeing their other hand up to focus on peripherals or control other devices. With devices becoming increasingly complex to operate, the traditional two-joystick controller only adds to the complexity with it’s fragility, limited application, and difficulty in training.
The Tekuma control orb reduces the time, cost, personnel, and training required to get jobs done. The team has developed a force-based, six-degrees of freedom control orb that can be operated with one hand across multiple devices including drones, robots, even video games.
As CEO, Annette applied for CORE Start to help gain more insight into how the Tekuma technology might be applied to the mining and energy space and be inspired by more partners and peers in the CORE community.
To hear more from Tekuma and our other participants, join us for Pitch Night Friday 28 May from 4:30PM at CORE Innovation Hub, Perth.
