South Australian Department for Energy & Mining Executive Director, Alex Blood joins Hot 30 as Judge.

CORE Innovation Hub has worked closely with the South Australian Department for Energy and Mining since our establishment in South Australia in 2020. We are pleased to confirm The South AUstralian Department for Energy and Mining will once again be supporting the Hot 30 Awards in 2022. Esteemed Executive Director of the Department for Energy and Mining, Alex Blood will also be joining the Awards as a judge in 2022.

Alex brings more than 20 years of diverse industry experience having held various roles at state, national and global levels for a wide variety of mining, oil and gas, infrastructure and industrial projects across Australia, Papua New Guinea, Asia- Pacific and Africa. She sits on the National Board for environmental professional certification and has held past global and national corporate sustainability, business planning and technical advisory roles. In 2012 Alex became the first woman to be named Environmental Practitioner of the Year by the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand.

The Department for Energy and Mining is proud to once again support CORE Innovation Hub’s Hot 30, in particular the SA Innovation Award, recognising the State’s rapid economic growth as a technology and innovation centre.

From South Australia’s focus for 100% renewable electricity by 2030 to carbon capture and storage, low carbon sustainable mining, exploration technologies or digital geoscience. The Hot 30 Awards celebrate the hottest Australian innovators across the energy and mining sector. The awards aim to showcase the next generation of businesses who are successfully developing technology and using innovation to shape the future of some of Australia’s most important industries, today.

The Hot 30 Awards are scheduled to be announced in Perth on Thursday 24 February.
