Community Key to Shaping Newman Innovation Hub
Last month our Regional Engagement Lead, Natalie Carter attended the Newman Chamber of Commerce and Industry After Hours Networking. The fantastic event hosted by local buying program, C-Res and Austmine, provided a great opportunity for 50+ local businesses to connect and learn more about the current opportunities both within Newman and across the broader Pilbara.
Natalie and CORE Director, Brodie McCulloch were able to present to the group of attendees and provide further insight into the soon-to-be-established Newman Hub. The pair were grateful for the opportunity to share an update about the project. Natalie and Brodie talked openly with attendees on how the new Innovation Hub will further facilitate the great work already happening in Newman and how the co-working space and CORE programs will help foster more collaboration and new opportunities for local businesses and fly in fly out workers in the region.
While in Newman, Natalie connected with a number of other business leaders and groups including Wirra Hub who were hosting a learning session on how they can support SME businesses on their business journey & how they are working on establishing footprint into Newman.
Natalie also caught up with BHP project managers, Amber Warne & Nat Iannaci-Mejia to chat through some of the final details for the new Hub, along with BHP’s Karen Lou Lockyer who is the current Indigenous Employment Specialist to understand how we can better engage with and support Indigenous business people within the Hub.
Finally, Natalie and the team from the Newman Chamber of Commerce and Industry met to further explore how we can best work together and achieve real impact together for the business people of Newman.
CORE Innovation Hub is continuing to meet and consult with various stakeholders across Newman and the Pilbara. If you would like to find out more about the Hub and how we can help or partner with you, get in touch with us today.
