End of Year Celebration: CORE community celebrates in style!

In the last week of November, CORE Innovation Hub Perth hosted their annual End of Year Celebration. The celebration was a smash hit, giving our community and broader industry the opportunity to connect and network before the start of the so-called silly season. It was great to see so many familiar faces, and equally as nice to see some new faces in our space as well.

Watch the 5th anniversary video

We kicked off the evening with the launch of our 5-year anniversary video, showcasing some of our amazing members from both Perth and Adelaide and their experience with CORE Innovation Hub over the years. The Directors of CORE were also featured, sharing their original vision for CORE and how that has been realised over the last 5 years as well as what their renewed vision is, not just for CORE but the energy and mining industry as a whole.

One of the highlights of the evening was being able to acknowledge and award the 1st and 2nd prizes for the NASA International Space Apps 2021 Challenge Hackathon that CORE hosted in October. The third prize went to a team from Sacred Heart College, and it was great to have two of the students in attendance on the night. The students prizes were awarded to them at the school on Monday morning where we also got the chance to meet the Head of the Gifted and Talented Education Program and the Principal as well.

Throughout the evening we ran a special raffle prize draw where attendees were encouraged to nominate innovative companies in the 2022 Hot 30 Awards. Erin Bell, Founder of Camp Connect was the lucky winner who took home a Swan Valley Ultimate Christmas Hamper!

DJ Julio was on the deck for the whole event, playing some great tunes and getting everyone in the mood.

All in all, it was a fantastic way to wrap up 2021 (albeit a bit early on Nov 25th!) and a good opportunity to celebrate and catch up with members and partners of our community. It was an interesting year indeed, but there’s something to be said about riding the ways of highs and lows and being able to come out the other end to celebrate both the good, and challenging times. And, I suppose that ultimately is one of the benefits of being a part of a community - and we can’t wait to see what 2022 brings!

A huge thank you to all who attended on the night. We are so grateful for the continued support of our community.
