CORE Start: Meet the Companies, Round 1 2022
CORE kicked off the first round of CORE Start for 2022 recently and we are pleased to welcome 5 new businesses to the program. This cohort represents a diverse range of businesses with operations across the whole of the mining sector - from marketing to AI systems to improve sustainability to battery-powered wireless monitoring sensors, ion exchange technology with copper extraction application and a condition monitoring system that can be retro-fitted to any piece of machinery.
CORE Start has been supported by Oracle, For Blue, City of Cockburn and The West Australian Department for Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation in 2022.
We are also pleased to annouce that three industry-leading experts have partnered with CORE Start as mentors. Successful entrepreneurs and business leaders in their own rights, Jasmin Ward, Nick Saunders and Bill Withers will work one on one with the companies to help them develop their ideas and scale their businesses.

S5System
S5System aims to provide simple, reliable and cost-effective solutions through a systematic approach for our clients. We utilize knowledge and technology to secure a sustainable and safer future. Founded by Davoud Nassehi, S5System design and manufacture reliable battery-powered, wireless special sensors for the mining industry. The mining industry needs a lot of data from their assets to increase insight and optimize their operations. We specialise in non-invasive sensors and actuators design, so that the miners can grab far more data from their processes and machinery.
NGMX
NGMX founder, Henry Sukhinin knew that ion exchange (IX) technology has been used for many decades mainly in uranium production. New innovative proprietary IX application for copper and other metals by NGMX called the resin in moisturised mix (RIMM). This process provides significant improvements to the IX process itself. The RIMM process combines two processes - leaching and sorption - conducted in the state of a moisturised mix (i.e. wet solids), and not in a pulp. Technology demonstrate high extraction rate (above 90%) and effective extraction of by-products. It use less consumables and water and can be used for various inputs impossible to process effectively by other methods.
Ezi Fix Condition Monitoring
Ezi Fix Conditioning Monitoring draws on founder Maxwell Arif’s 30 years of experience at mine sites, mainly at BHP Port Hedland operations maintenance. Ezifix designed and prototyped technologically advanced Condition Monitoring system, Micro chips, Gateways and software to run them coupled with the mechanical designs, they can be retro fitted at any mine/port operations on ALL fixed and mobile plant.
