Newman Hub: Co-Design Outcomes Report Launched
Recently the CORE team hosted two co-design workshops in Newman and Perth to establish some needs and requirements for the METS Innovation Hub, powered by BHP, soon to launched in Newman.
Guided by CORE principles of collaboration not competition and a desire to embrace the local community and culture, the co-design approach provided the opportunity for a diverse group of participants living and working in Newman to provide input on the requirements of the Newman METS Hub. It also gave current and potential partners of the Hub to ability to contribute to the co-creation of the services.
Key Outcomes
As a result of the co-design workshops, CORE has been able to further define the project and some key deliverables of the Newman Hub.
Through our collaborative approach key unmet needs were identified including:
Shop Front - establish a one-stop-shop for business support services
Skills Pathways - embedding business growth skills within the community
Connection - build connections that enable greater collaboration across the region
HUB GOALS
Focused on addressing the unmet needs identified within the local community, we have developed a number of goals for the Hub including:
Resilient business growth for local supply chain
Increased access to a variety of learning and development programs Increased visibility and access to local opportunities for the supply chain
Increased knowledge and understanding of innovation demands
Integration of BHP procurement pathways
Financially sustainable business model for the Hub
