South Australian Government Covid-19 Grants Available

On the 20th of July, the South Australian Government announced a lockdown for a period of 7 days. We know this puts additional pressure on both business owners and employees and this will have a financial impact, especially for our start-up and small business community. Thankfully the South Australian Government has recognised this impact and is providing grants to eligible businesses.

Recent CORE Start Mentor, Andrew Mattner, Director of Altitude Advisory has put together the following advice to help you make sense of what is available and how to access it.

What does this mean for Individuals & Small Businesses?

Individuals

For South Australian Residents, Individuals who have lost between 8 – 20 hours of work will be eligible for a $375-a-week Covid-19 Disaster Payment, with Individuals who have lost 20 hours, or more are entitled to receive $600-a-week during the period of the lockdown. This has been made available for Individuals state-wide.

South Australians who are forced to self-isolate are also eligible for one lump-sum payment of $1,500 to support and replace any loss of income.

Small Business
The State Government has also announced that it will provide cash grants of $3,000 for small to medium-sized businesses that have been impacted by the lockdown and cash grants of $1,000 will be made available for sole traders.
