Innovation: How the Digital World Will Change the Way People Need to be Trained

Speakers: Zane Prickett, Director, CORE Resources Innovation Hub & Peta Chirgwin, CORE Start Alumni, Mining Automation Consultant and CEO, PETEC and Chameleon Mettle Group

Thursday, 13th Oct, 09:40 - 10:10

The digital world will not only change what we train for, but also how we conduct that training. Soft skills will most likely be required to be coupled with a technical foundation as we move into the future of work. Advances in technology have enabled gamification and eLearning to become an immersive experience that can enhance both professional skills and soft skills whilst meeting specific learning outcomes. The fast pace of technological change may mean that traditional degree qualifications or individual learning outcomes may be obsolete at the end of the degree so a combination of blended on the job learning, face to face delivery and e-learning and gamification may be likely more prevalent. Rather than tell people what they need to do to meet future changes this session will get people thinking about creating a sustainable future.
