Ecosystem News & Events: Energy & Mining Initiatives from Across Australia

There is a lot happening in the energy and mining space and across the innovation tech start-up space in the coming months. With so much opportunity for growth, expansion and even potential funding, we have rounded up some of the great events, courses, challenges and accelorator’s about to kick off.

CORE Start

CORE Start is A 3 month entrepreneurial mentorship program aimed at helping founders to effectively scale their business. Focused on developing practical skills that enable growth, CORE Start is for energy and mining innovators wanting to set their businesses up for success and expand their networks. With a combination of group work, 1-on-1 mentoring, workshops and skill development, participants will learn how to enact change through challenge and innovation, business model fit solutions and strategies for sales success, how to identifying the right solution to the right problem, product & market fit — does my product solve the problem, design thinking in scale ups, and get exposure to investment and venture capital markets.

Led by industry heavy-weights and successful entrepreneurs in energy and mining, this free course will leave participants ready to tackle new challenges in business and industry.

UNEARTHED PRESENTS THE H2O CHALLENGE in collaboration with South32. 

Foundation Partner, Unearthed & South32 are looking to find new partners whom they can work with to develop solutions for the beneficial use of the water from the Hermosa Project. The goal of this challenge is to identify potential collaborators who can provide a solution that is “fit-for-purpose” and delivers incremental benefits and value over existing plans for the water. The opportunity they've identified is in relation to the water from the Hermosa Project.

This challenge invites companies from around the world to put forward their innovative and novel proposal, process, solution, or technology for the use of water removed from the Hermosa Project. Specifically, we are seeking proposals for viable solutions that would generate benefits and value for the local community, over and above the existing plans, whilst maintaining ecological and environmental values of the region. 

To participate in the initiative, innovators will be asked to send out their ideas and proposals for the beneficial use of water. When registered, they will get access to data, a forum for more technical information and detailed description.

PLUS EIGHT ACCELERATOR

Applications are now open for the Plus Eight Accelerator Program, powered by CORE Foundation Partner Spacecubed. With up to $500,000 seed-funding available, international immersion trips and the chance to learn, network and connect with leading mentors, funders and investors, the program this year is set to be bigger than ever.

Capricorn Society and Visagio join Woodside Energy, RAC BetterLabs, Hawaiian, Eastcourt, Jackson McDonald, DFK Gooding Partners, Radium Capital and Community Partners, West Tech Fest, Bloom, Curtin Innovate, CERI, and Perth Biodesign in supporting the 2022 program.

Moonshot's Space Elevator Series

Moonshot is a global alliance of 40+ space pioneers each investing time, money and connections to level up new space-tech founders, operators and investors through special programs and other opportunities. The Space Elevator Series is back for 2022 with 4 programs, starting with our bootcamp, Ideator & pre-accelerator.

The BootCamp is a global space challenge for everyone, everywhere, kicking off Aprill 22.

The Ideator - A part-time sandbox for anyone to participate in the space tech community, starting April 18

And, the Pre-accelerator is A 3-month mentor program to turn start your space tech startup journey, running from April to June.
